Ces œuvres rassemblées en un set de cartes postales reflètent la période de pandémie (2020-2021) vécue par des artistes à travers leurs publications. 

Pendant la pandémie, j’ai créé un projet nommé « Toutes mes sympathies, cher racisme » dans le cadre de Tollé (déc. 2020) durant lequel je distribuais des sacs « surprise ». J’ai réitéré l’action en mai (mois du patrimoine asiatique) avec « Cuisine ta ville » à la Place des Arts. En utilisant la marque « sans nom » (jaune, noire, arial rond), ça me rappelle aussi mon activisme en Corée du Sud pour les droits des adopté.e.s avec la campagne « Nos adopté.e.s, nos étrangèr.e.s ». 

Avec cette publication, les artistes choisi.e.s ont été touché.e.s par ces événements racistes (anti-Asiatiques, anti-Noir.e.s et envers les Autochtones). Des codes QR au dos des cartes postales vous dirigent vers les œuvres et ceux sur le côté sont pour faire des dons aux organismes : Black Lives Matter Canada (BLM), Le foyer pour femmes autochtones de Montréal, La Caré et le RAIS — Ressource Adoption. 

Ce projet n’aurait pas pu être réalisé sans les artistes, Nedjma Achour (La Ruche), Cécilia Bracmort, Sabrina Cordy, Angelina Guo, André Ho (Centre communautaire LGBTQ+ de Montréal et Jeunesse Engagée), Tong Zhou Lafrance (graphisme), Michaëlle Sergile (articule).

These works collected in a set of postcards are reflective of the pandemic period (2020-2021) experienced by artists through their publications. 

During the pandemic I created a project called “All my sympathies, dear racism” as part of Tollé (Dec. 2020), during which I distributed “surprise” bags. I repeated the action in May (Asian Heritage Month) with “Cuisine ta ville” at Place des Arts. By using the “no name” brand (yellow, black, round Arial), it also reminds me of my activism in South Korea for the rights of adoptees with the campaign “Our adoptees, our foreigners”. 

With this publication, the chosen artists were touched by these racist events (anti-Asian, anti-Black and towards Indigenous people). The QR codes on the back of the postcards direct you to the selected artists’ work and those on the side lead you to the donation pages for the organizations: Black Lives Matter Canada (BLM), The Montreal Native Women’s Shelter, La Caré and the RAIS — Adoption Resource. 

This project would not have been possible without the artists, Nedjma Achour (La Ruche), Cécilia Bracmort, Sabrina Cordy, Angelina Guo, André Ho (Montreal LGBTQ+ community Center and Jeunesse Engagée), Tong Zhou Lafrance (Design), Michaëlle Sergile (articule).
